In the professional ballet industry, dancers will gradually regress in both soft and technique with age growth.

Therefore, ballet dancers generally consider retiring after the age of 30. But now, amateur ballet studios are gaining popularity among Japan's middle-aged and elderly.

According to Japan's report, a study by the Ballet Research Center of Showa Music University showed that the number of ballet studios and students in Japan has shown a downward trend in the past decade.

Among them, the proportion of ballet studios for the age group of 20 to 40 remained unchanged or showed a downward trend, but the proportion of studios for the age group of 50 and above showed an increasing trend.

The research institute attributed the trend in part to "an increasing emphasis on physical fitness among older adults and the growing popularity of ballet as a hobby or exercise".

The person in charge of a dance studio said: "Although people start to learn ballet for different reasons, such as wanting to wear beautiful costumes, want to perform on stage, want to have a good body, lose weight or keep fit, no matter what age you should to achieve it."

All terms in ballet studies are also expressed in French. Ballet originated in Italy during the Renaissance in the 15th century. At that time, the ballet was called Ballo in Italy, which meant "jump" or "dance".

The so-called "jump" refers to the movement of the legs and feet. This is also dynamic and characteristic of Western dances that are based on "foot dance". Most oriental dances are based on the dynamics and characteristics of "hand dance".

In Italy during the Renaissance, grand banquets were often held. These venues are the places where ballet sprouts. After the 17th century, the French Emperor Louis XIV and the nobles of the palace personally acted as actors.

They wear masks and perform different roles, so it is also called "mask ballet" (the ballet at this time is performed by male actors).

After the 1770s, ballet gradually went out of the court and performed in theaters.

Changes in venues and audience viewing angles prompted the birth of professional ballerinas in place of aristocratic amateurs.

At this time, female ballet dancers also began to perform on stage. As a result, dance techniques and aesthetics have developed rapidly.

In order to reproduce the drama ideal of the ancient Greeks integrating poetry, music, and dance, the dance masters of the court consciously created a comprehensive ballet that integrated dance, pantomime, music, costumes, script, lighting, and scenery.

The first relatively complete dance drama in history is "Queen's Comedy Ballet", which was born in 1581. Although ballet has experienced several ups and downs, it has occupied a unified position in the western dance world for more than 300 years. It wasn't until 1909, when the first plotless ballet "The Fairies" appeared, that the dominance of stylized ballet was shaken.

Ballet is divided into five periods: "early ballet", "romantic ballet", "classical ballet", "modern ballet" and "contemporary ballet". These five periods were formed and developed in different countries.

They serve as a link between the past and the future, and they are not simply negated or replaceable.
