Scootering is a sport that exercises one's balance and although it is not a very intense sport, children who are too weak or too young are best not to be exposed to it too early.
The sport itself is a way to strengthen your child's body and to enhance their sense of balance and body coordination in an enjoyable way. It is recommended that children from the age of 3 and a half can start learning to scoot, preferably with experience of riding a tricycle before learning.
Learning to scoot has the following main benefits.
1.It is easier for the baby to master the skill of controlling the steering of the vehicle by the handlebars.
2.After children use the scooter, babies can soon master the way of bicycle gliding, which will help them to ride two-wheeled bicycles later.
3.Enhance the baby's sense of balance and promote the overall coordination of the body, waist, arms and legs.
4.According to your child's personality traits, develop a scooter exercise plan, from constant failure at the beginning to success at the end, so that your child becomes bold and more persevering.
The scooter can reach a speed of 20 km/h. This new product comes from technologically advanced Japan, but was invented by a German worker as a simple, labour-saving exercise machine.
Based on the theory of human movement and clever mechanics, it uses mainly the body (waist and hips), the twisting of the feet and the swinging of the hands to drive forward.
When playing scooters, children should wear appropriate protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, knee and elbow pads and sports shoes to avoid injury in case of a fall. Parents should also teach children not to jump on the scooter and to disengage from the scooter as soon as they lose their balance.
Finally, parents should always keep an eye on their children and be aware of people and things around them so that they do not lose control of their scooters and injure themselves or others.
Scooters require a certain amount of space.
1. Use the scooter in a safe and suitable place. Do not use the scooter in dangerous places such as on roads, slopes, next to stairs or next to pools.
2. Avoid using scooters in crowded areas such as pavements or shopping malls to avoid accidents.
3. Never use scooters on slippery or uneven surfaces.
It is also important to check that the following scooters can glide properly before playing with them as a safety precaution
Check that all parts are correctly fitted and that screws, locking devices etc. are secure and effective before each use.
Check regularly that all parts are worn and that the pedals are not broken.
After use it is advisable to wipe the handle, pedals and wheels etc. lightly with a damp cloth.
